A huge share of “dead slide” calls are low voltage under load, not a failed motor. Dual-motor in-wall slides can rack when one side is weak. Hydraulic levelers add fluid, valves, sensors, and controller logic. Chassis/house battery voltage at rest can look fine while voltage collapses when motors start. Measure where the maker says to measure, under attempted operation when safe.
Bring the bank up and retry before ordering motors. Many “failed” slides wake up on a real charge.
One side leading on a dual-motor slide binds seals and gears. Stop and diagnose — do not keep hammering the switch.
Extending big slides on a twisted coach invites seal and mechanism pain. Level first when the site allows.
In-wall systems and through-frame slides use different override methods (drill on a motor shaft vs hand crank on a gearbox output, depending on design). Disconnect power to the slide circuit before manual operation so a live motor cannot fight you mid-crank. Confirm bit size, direction, and which motor you are turning from the unit’s documentation — generic videos strip racks. If you are unsure, Prefer Text photos of the motor ends and controller before you turn anything.
Controller error indications vary by generation. Capture them before clearing. Match to the OEM sheet for your system — we will not invent a code table here.
Look under the coach for wet jacks/lines. Fluid type and fill procedure are maker-specific.
Jacks on soft ground bury and twist the frame. Use proper pads; auto-level is not magic.
A jack that will not come up can strand you. Do not drag a partially extended jack down the highway.

Motors disagree, hydraulics leak or fault, or you need a safe retract on the MT · WY · ID · WA corridor. Prefer Text system photos, code shots, and coach year/make.
Controller generations differ. The wrong table is worse than none — use the sheet for your unit.
